Better Bowels Made Simple

Cheap and effective strategies for better bowel movements

If you couldn’t tell by the subject line, today we’re going to talk about your bowels.

Specifically, how to have more bowel movements, since doing so is essential for optimal health.

2-3 bowel movements per day ensures your body eliminates waste and toxins, and also helps with nutrient absorption and reducing bloating.

If you’re struggling to maintain regularity, don’t worry.

Here are three simple and very effective hacks to get your bowels back on track:

#1 - Eat Insoluble Fiber Daily

Insoluble fiber doesn’t get digested. When it passes through your gut, it adds bulk to your stool and helps clear out that old waste sitting inside of you.

Insoluble fiber also clears out estrogen inside of your gut, which is great if you’re struggling with estrogen toxicity.

Ray Peat’s raw carrot salad is my favorite way to get insoluble fiber in my diet daily, since it is both easy and delicious.

Other good sources include white button mushrooms and cauliflower.

#2 - Psyllium Husk

Start your day with a glass of water mixed with a tablespoon of psyllium husk.

This natural fiber supplement absorbs water and forms a gel-like substance, which helps to soften your stool and make it easier to pass.

Drinking this each morning can help you stay regular and support your digestive health.

#3 - Magnesium Citrate & Tea at Night

Taking a magnesium supplement, like magnesium citrate, at night can act as a gentle laxative.

Magnesium helps to relax your intestines and attract water into your bowels, making it easier for you to have regular, smooth bowel movements.

Taking this alongside herbal teas, such as Smooth Move by Traditional Medicinals (no affiliation), is a simple yet effective way to keep things moving.

Incorporating these three solutions into your daily routine will ensure you’re having those 2-3 bowel movements per day.

Your health is in your hands, and taking small steps like these can make a big difference.

Until next time,
