Home detox checklist

Simple swaps you can make today

People ask me, "What can I add to be healthy? What's the next best supplement, biohack, or protocol?"

The real question we should ask is, "What do I need to remove?"

Grandma and Grandpa weren’t taking handfuls of supplements each morning. They were effortlessly healthy and didn’t think much about it.

Most influencers will say that this is the epitome of health

Why?

Their environment was clean. There were fewer pesticides in the food, toxins in the water, and chemicals floating around.

Since that is no longer the case, the right approach would be to actively remove the toxins (not add more supplements).

There’s just as much (if not more) benefit to be gained from removing harmful things than adding beneficial things.

Case in point: a recent study from Holland found that indoor air quality is now 4-5x worse than outdoors. That’s because we live in boxes that don’t breathe, filled with fragrances, chemicals, and personal care products that are trapped inside.

So, here are a few simple habits and replacements you can make around your home to remove toxins:

✅ Open your windows and front door for 30 minutes per day. This will let the fresh air in and the stagnant air out.

✅ Bring in air-purifying houseplants. Snake plants, spider plants, and peace lilies are all good options.

✅ Remove shoes before entering your home to avoid tracking in pesticides and other pollutants.

✅ Replace laundry detergent with vinegar.

✅ Replace Clorox with a solution of 50% vinegar, 50% water, lemon peel, and essential oil to clean surfaces.

✅ Use tallow/olive oil-based soap and shampoo.

✅ Use tallow/olive oil-based candles instead of chemical-laden soy candles.

✅ Replacer polyester bedsheets and clothing with 100% cotton, linen, or wool.

✅ Replace plastic anything (especially food and water containers) with glass.

✅ Replace processed snacks with fruits, cheeses, and nuts.

✅ Replace Teflon-coated pans with cast iron, ceramic, stainless steel, or glass.

If you make these changes, you might notice some of your health problems just disappear.

If you want to detoxify your home further, here are some products that I personally use:

  • AquaTru offers an exceptional water filter, removing 100% of contaminants, including PFAS, fluoride, chlorine, lead, chromium, and arsenic. It's arguably the best on the market for ensuring clean drinking water.

  • AirDoctor is the only company on the market that gets rid of 99% of toxic particles in the air. Since indoor air is so polluted, this product is an excellent choice for improving air quality.

  • Caraway is one of the few cookware brands committed to non-toxic products. They offer high-quality ceramic and stainless steel pans, alongside glass options for food storage.

I hope you found this useful.

Until next time,
