A Surprising Cooking Hack For Grilling Meats

Learn how to reverse the carcinogens produced in high-temperature cooking

It’s the middle of July—that probably means you’re firing up the grill and enjoying some delicious, grilled meats.

As tasty as it is, charred meat is not good for you… it’s actually carcinogenic.

Why?

Cooking meat at high temperatures creates carcinogenic compounds called HCAs and PAHs. They form while grilling or pan-searing, and wreak havoc on your DNA.

They cause all sorts of damage, including mutations, which can lead to cancer.

To avoid this, you could cook your meat on low heat, but let’s be honest—nobody wants to do that. A grey burger is pretty gross.

So, what can you do instead?

Cook or supplement with natural antioxidants.

There are multiple foods, supplements, and herbs that are known to directly fight HCAs and PAHs.

The first thing you can do is marinate meat in rosemary and onion before cooking.

Rosemary extract and quercetin (contained in onions) have been shown to inhibit HCA formation by up to 90% (PMID 9675297 & 20492265).

Putting these things on your food before grilling is an easy and delicious way to stop HCAs from even forming in the first place.

However, there’s an even more powerful way to protect yourself and enjoy your summer grilling…

Defend Blend.

This all-in-one supplement I created contains the most potent ingredients known to specifically combat HCAs and PAHs, backed by research:

#1 - Matcha Green Tea Leaf Powder

Green tea extract contains EGCG which protects against DNA damage caused by carcinogens.

A study published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry found that green tea protects against DNA damage induced by PAHs.

#2 - Broccoli Sprout Extract

Sulforaphane, found in high concentrations in broccoli sprouts, produces enzymes that remove carcinogens from the body.

#3 - Curcumin

Curcumin is a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compound that protects against DNA damage.

Many studies published in Cancer Letters and Molecular Cancer showed that curcumin inhibits the mutagenic effects of PAHs.

For the rest of July, we’re offering 30% off on Defend Blend (both the adult and kids formula) as part of our July Blowout Sale.
