The Biology Behind the Disaster

Why the war on fat wrecked your hormones, your mitochondria, and your ability to detox

Yesterday, we talked about how Ancel Key’s flawed theory that “fat causes heart disease” made people sick.

If you haven’t read that email, read it now to get context on this email.

Today, I want to show you what actually happened inside the body once that lie took hold.

The Biology Behind the Disaster

When we removed natural fats from the human diet, we removed the very building blocks of health.

Fats aren’t just calories.

They’re building blocks for your cells and hormones.

  • Your cell membranes are built from fatty acids.

  • Your hormones (estrogen, testosterone, cortisol) are made from cholesterol.

  • Your brain is 60 % fat by weight.

  • Vitamins A, D, E, and K (essential for immunity, bone density, and fertility) can only be absorbed with fat.

So when you replace butter, tallow, and egg yolks with “low-fat” spreads and processed oils, you don’t just change your diet.

You change your cellular architecture.

In other words…

Your body starts trying to rebuild itself with cheap, synthetic materials.

The Rise of Industrial Oils

Once the world turned against natural fat, industry filled the gap with seed oils.

Cottonseed, soybean, corn, and canola.

They were marketed as “heart-healthy.”

But the truth is, these oils are chemically unstable.

They’re rich in omega-6 fatty acids like linoleic acid, which oxidize easily when exposed to heat, air, or light.

Every time you cook with them—or eat food fried in them—you’re introducing oxidized lipids into your bloodstream.

These oxidized fats trigger chronic inflammation, damage mitochondria (your energy factories), and accelerate cellular aging.

They also clog detox pathways in the liver, which is why so many people today are “detoxing” without realizing the root problem isn’t toxins themselves…

It’s their body’s inability to clear them.

The Illusion of Progress

When the world adopted “low-fat” guidelines, cholesterol levels did drop.

Doctors were very happy about this.

But what really fell wasn’t heart disease risk…

It was cellular function and metabolism.

People didn’t get healthier, they just got better at dying slowly.

Tomorrow, we’ll talk about what it takes to rebuild.

How to restore your cells, repair mitochondrial health, and fix damage from linoleic acid and seed oils.

See you tomorrow,
