N-Acetylcysteine - A Potent Detoxifier
Everything That You Need To Know About This Powerful Supplement
This powerful antioxidant…
Helps your body produce glutathione—a key player in detoxification.
Supports liver function by assisting in the elimination of toxins.
Neutralizes free radicals, greatly reducing oxidative stress.
Reduces inflammation, alleviating chronic pain and cell damage.
Protects your body against heavy metals, environmental toxins, and more.
Strengthens the immune system, which helps you fight off infections.
What am I talking about?
N-Acetylcysteine (NAC)
NAC is a supplement that’s derived from the amino acid L-cysteine, one of the building blocks of protein in the body. L-cysteine is available from certain foods, however, NAC offers a much more bioavailable form—meaning that your body uses it more effectively.
It naturally replenishes glutathione (the Master Antioxidant)…
Which makes NAC a potent antioxidant that’s essential for your detox systems.
It’s so effective at breaking down and neutralizing toxins, drugs, and other dangerous compounds that it’s used in medical settings for things like acetaminophen overdoses.
The benefits don’t end there.
According to this animal study (PMID: 27161488), NAC stabilizes blood sugar levels and improves insulin resistance by fighting inflammation in fat cells.
NAC also improves mental health conditions (bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, OCD, and substance use disorder) by regulating glutamate—a crucial neurotransmitter in the brain.
This is shown in these studies (PMID: 30016376, 30632301), where NAC reduces cravings and improves sobriety attempts in cannabis, nicotine, and even methamphetamine users—some of the most additive drugs on the planet.
Finally, NAC reduces your risk of heart disease by protecting against oxidative stress.
This has been examined by multiple studies:
But there’s a catch.
The right dosage of NAC depends on factors unique to you.
You cannot purchase any random NAC supplement and hope for the best.
You cannot take too much, either… or else you could end up in a Herxheimer Reaction and get incredibly sick (which I spoke about in Wednesday’s newsletter).
If you want to learn…
How NAC and other detoxification supplements work within the body.
How to determine the right dosage for you—with your body type, environment, genetic makeup, toxin burden, and health history in mind.
Signs that you’re ready (or not ready) for detox and how to prepare your body.
What other detoxification tools you need because, frankly, NAC alone won’t do the trick. You’ll need a full detox protocol including binders (to eliminate toxins from your body), herbs/supplements to strengthen your detox organs, and more.
How to avoid mistakes that’ll cause harm, such as the Herxheimer effect.
What to expect during a detox protocol and how to handle symptoms. I’ll guide you through the entire process—letting you know what symptoms are normal, which ones are red flags, and how to manage any discomfort along the way.
You’d benefit from my coaching program—the Live to 120 Masterclass.
